How to Download Tech 2 Saab 148.000 from TIS2Web
GM Tech 2 Scanner Saab 148.000 download instruction:
Important: The Tech 2 Saab software that is currently on the 32 MB memory card will be erased and the Saab software will be written over top of it.
(This process can be reversed to reload the service version back to North American Operations)
* Verify a 32 MB memory card is inserted in the Tech 2
* Connect the Tech 2 to a PC using the RS232 cable and DB9 adaptor.
Most modern laptops and desktops do not have a serial port, if yours does not please use a Keyspan adapter. Model number USA-19HS has been validated
* Open TIS2Web and select the SWDL tab
* Under “Select Diagnostic Tool” select Tech 2
* Under “Update Mode” select Custom and press next
* Scroll down in “Applications for Downloading” and double click on SAAB Automobile AB 148.000 – 32MB
* Click on the desired language
* Press the “Select” button in the middle of the screen and verify the information is correct in the box on the right
* Click the download button
The software that is on the 32 MB memory card will be erased and the Saab software will be written over top of it.
A confirmation screen will display when the software download has finished.
The Saab software is now loaded onto the 32 MB memory card and is ready for use. The home screen should appear as shown.

I’ve got one and it works perfect on my 08
A few of us have them….. works great! Can also get to things like the rear air ride (if yours has that) which no other tool can deal with.
That being said I’ve seen on other forums where some people have major issues with their clones. Best I can say is I got my GM Tech2 from obd2tool and it works perfect.
It will come in handy sometimes. Now figuring out how to use all of the functionality will take a bit too. You can pretty much get right into diagnostics and whatnot pretty easy though. Programming takes a bit more as you will need to either install TIS2000 or pay for a short subscription to the ACDelco TIS system. TIS2000 is a pretty old program but does still have updates and whatnot for some things in our H2’s. The tricky bit is it runs on Windows XP. There is tons of info online about ways of getting that software installed and working though. The Tech2 will also come in handy for other GM vehicles as well and can give you a lot more info that most any other scan tool.
I’m pretty sure this one…. That is the same one I got a couple of years ago.

I own the Im608. I purchased it because I wanted to do more key programming. My first vehicle I used it on, was a 2015 Fiat 500 NEC MCU in BCM. I could not find PIN in NEC, I was able to read with VVDI prog. So I purchased the Autel IM608, it was able to read pin no problem. Went to precode the transponder (Dealer key would have worked no problem but I was using aftermarket) and the IM608 would not get the needed information from IMMO (said Failed, Locked BCM, had to disconnect battery to regain communication)
So I called Autel support (China) I tried Autel USA but they didn’t seem too knowledgeable. Autel support china within minutes could see the error on their server, they sent me Beta software for IMMO_FIAT to attempt and solve the problem. It worked perfectly.
All other vehicles I have tried have gone well, I was curious about Incode/outcode in newer fords. It programmed a key on 2018 Ford transit no problem, didn’t ask for any pins or incode/outcode.
I only purchased the Autel because I have their Maxisys Elite and ADAS frame and I am very happy with their tools. I have never used a Lonsdor or OBDStar so I cannot comment on their performance.
One big bonus to the IM608 is you also get SCN Coding, VW online coding ect. I use the xp400 to clone modules all the time, VVDI prog used to be my “go to” but now Xp400 is.
Is it a rookie tool? Nope, if you’re a rookie you’ll probably be frustrated. But if you have basic EEPROM and MCU skills / Locksmith skills id highly recommend it.

I 1st tried to pick up from yesterday with all the data, no luck, so
back to basic reset the key started again and it all went through
showing me the password, then write to the new key and IT WORKED

This is a stage 3 device that has locksmith level key coding and the
same diagnostic software and special functions at the MS908. Plus it has
a j2534 so you can program blank ECU module. Its a really good solution
since everything is all in one scanner. Money well spent.

I want to install newer software. After i install it goes back to
older version after restarts. How to unlock these revert back function

edit virtual machine setting , click on the hdd in the settings , click
advanced tab , take from none persistent to persistent , set up the
system, when finished , put it back to none persistent.
Does someone can share USB drivers, my VM not recognize the

Are all your computer drivers installed
it shouldn’t matter if you have the vci manager installed on the host or
not , it should still work if all your computer drivers are installed
in your host .
did you go to removable devices under vmware to check if it is connected there .
For me everything is perfect, but I need to access the program to
install some utilities, it does not allow me to copy or paste files from
the outside ..This is how to modify this:
1.- Open VMWARE APP.
2.- From library select “Ford ids”.
3.- Select “Edit virtual machine setting”.
4.- Select “Options”.
5.- Select “Guest Isolation”
6..- Click on “Enable Drag and Copy
Can also enable shared folders between vmware and host , i find this a better option for larger files .
